Classic Shepherd’s Pie 🥔🥩
A warm, comforting dish that has been loved for generations! Shepherd’s Pie is a hearty meal made with seasoned ground meat, vegetables, and a creamy mashed potato topping. It’s the perfect dish for cozy nights at home.
Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground lamb (or beef for cottage pie)
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 carrots, diced
- 1 cup peas
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 cup beef broth
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 4 cups mashed potatoes
- 2 tbsp butter
- Salt & pepper to taste
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- Cook ground meat in a skillet until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add onion, carrots, and peas. Cook until softened.
- Stir in tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, and beef broth. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- Spread meat mixture into a baking dish and top with mashed potatoes.
- Bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool slightly before serving.
